Charges of brutality involving a CSU police officer surfaced this summer following a May incident in which two students were told to vacate a campus building, resulting in the arrest and hospitalization of one of them. Graduate students Racquel McNeil and Rasu El, both students in the university's African American studies department, were studying May 4 in Douglas Hall when McNeil left the building to make copies at the New Academic Library. CSU President Frank Pogue Aug. 29 released nine key objectives for improving the university's fiscal and operational standing. Known as the "Expectations," the objectives are geared toward CSU students and employees; and they outline some of the procedures the interim administration believes should be implemented to enhance the university's functioning as it searches for a permanent president. CSU's division of student affairs unearthed the university's Campus Life Board Aug. 29 following a year-long stint of inactivity. The board is comprised of the executive members of the university's recognized clubs and organizations and serves as an umbrella association for student groups where requests for funds, grievances and additional proposals are heard.
